As an Invention Manager at INVO, Gwendolyn leads patent prosecution and licensing in the focus areas of synthetic biology, medical sciences, and biological therapeutics. She works on a variety of agreement types to support technology transfer activities including: options, inter-institutional agreements, non-exclusive and exclusive licenses. Gwendolyn also leads licensing efforts for life science research tools, such as antibodies and mouse models. Additionally, Gwendolyn interfaces with several other Northwestern offices including Office for Sponsored Research, Office of General Counsel, Internal Review Board, and Conflict of Interest office on intellectual property and license related matters. 

Gwendolyn is an Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) member and volunteers on the AUTM Central Region Planning Committee.

Prior to joining INVO, Gwendolyn was a graduate student in the department of Molecular and Integrative Physiology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research focused on the neuroprotective effects of estrogen in the female brain. She also worked on a collaborative project with bioengineers to develop a proof-of-concept cancer diagnostic device.

In addition, Gwendolyn was a Commercialization Analyst Intern at the Office of Technology Management at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.

Gwendolyn received her B.S. in Microbiology from Indiana University in Bloomington and her Ph.D. in Molecular and Integrative Physiology from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.
